New Focus

I'm now mostly a retired meteorologist but still love to watch Utah weather. I will continue to update the Utah weather cams and Utah weather links pages and occasionally post Utah weather related information. I'm spending more time enjoying Utah snow skiing, cycling, hiking, and water skiing.

Heavy wet mountain snow (10)

A few spotty light snow showers are expected to move into northern/central Utah on Friday night with tr-1" accumulation mainly over the mountains of northern Utah.  A prolonged moist northwest flow at mountain top levels (mainly southerly flow at the surface) is anticipated to set up over northern/central Utah on Saturday night and continue through the day on Monday with heavy wet snow for the mountains, rain in the valleys and as high as 7,000 ft. Plan on a general 18-24" of snow for most northern/central Utah mountains above 8,000 ft with local 24-30" amounts. Click on the below map for WRF model forecasted snow through 5pm Monday.
