New Focus

I'm now mostly a retired meteorologist but still love to watch Utah weather. I will continue to update the Utah weather cams and Utah weather links pages and occasionally post Utah weather related information. I'm spending more time enjoying Utah snow skiing, cycling, hiking, and water skiing.

Nice storm for the north, dry south (37)

Look for valley rain and mountain snow to move into northern Utah on Sunday, cold front moves through on Monday morning with valley rain changing to snow at the tail end of the front. Most of the valley rain/snow ends on Monday behind the cold front but off and on lighter snow showers are expected to continue at times over the mountains and south and east of the Great Salt Lake through Tuesday night. Plan on a general 8-14" (local 15-20") for most northern Utah mountains above 8,000 ft, 1/2-7" for areas between 5,000 and 8,000 ft, 0-1/2" (local 1-3" south and east of the Great Salt Lake) below 5,000 ft. Click on the below map for the WRF model forecasted snow between 6am Sunday and 6am Wednesday.
