Plan on valley rain and mountain snow to continue at times Friday into the day on Sunday. Look for a general 0.50-1.00" (local 1.00-2.00") of water for the valleys, 6-16" (local 16-22") of snow for the mountains above 8,000 ft. Below is the HRRR model forecast winds for 3pm today, cold front is forecasted to be near the Salt Lake County/Utah County line at this time. Plan on general southerly winds increasing into the 20-30 g/45 mph range with local 30-40 g/65+ mph ahead of the front, similar northerly winds just behind the front then decreasing!

Strong cold front, mountain and valley snow (26)

A strong cold front is expected to push through the state on Tuesday with valley rain and mountain snow, turning to all snow on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning then clearing in most areas with linger mountain snow showers that end by dark on Wednesday. Plan on a general trace-1/2 for the northern Wasatch front valleys, 1/2-2" for the central/southern Wasatch front valleys and northern Wasatch Front benches, and 3-5" for local bench areas in Salt Lake/Tooele/Utah valleys. In the mountains plan on a general 6-10" of snow above 7,000 ft with local 11-16" in the Cottonwoods/Uinta's. Click on the below link for the WRF model forecasted snow for this storm.
