The week of dry weather is over as a storm moves into Utah today, ends in all areas by sunrise on Monday. Look for most of the valley rain and mountain snow to fall on Saturday night with this storm. Plan on a general 6-12" (local 13-20"+) for most Utah mountain areas above 7,500 ft, trace-5" in areas between 6,000-7,500 ft, little if any accumulation below 6,000 ft. Last storm is this series (33)

The last storm is this series is expected to move into northern Utah on Friday night then slowly move south and east through the state during the day on Saturday. Look for most of the rain/snow to end up north early in the day on Saturday, holding on until dark in the southeast. Plan on a general 8-15" (local 16-24") snow for the northern Utah mountains above 8,000 ft, 5-8" (local 9-12") for the southern Utah mountains. In the mountain valleys and some of the high desert valleys look for 2-5" of snow. For the lower Wasatch Front valleys little if any accumulation is anticipated as the rain changes to snow at the tail end of the storm, trace-2" benches. Significant storm (32)

The next storm is the series is significant and expected to move into Utah on Monday night with the bulk of the rain/snow ending during the morning hours on Tuesday, a few lingering showers into Wednesday morning. Look for the snow to mostly stay above 5,500 ft, 1-7" mountain valleys and Cache valley, a general 8-19" (local 20-30"+) mountains above 8,000 ft. Quick, small storm (31)

A generally small and quick moving storm will move through northern Utah Sunday night into the morning hours on Monday, a much stronger storm is expected on Monday night that lasts into Wednesday. With the first small storm look for rain in the valleys with a general 2-5" (local 6-10") in the mountains above 8,000 ft. A little stronger storm (30)

The second storm in the series of storms moves into Utah today, most rain/snow ending during the morning hours on Saturday with a few lingering snow showers over the far northern mountains into Saturday night. Back in a wet pattern, first small storm (29)

A small storm will bring light snow to the northern Utah Mountains today with generally 2-4", light rain/snow mix or even all rain in the valleys from Salt Lake north.

February Outlook

Plan on warmer than normal temperatures for all of Utah in February. Look for above normal precipitation in the northwest corner of the state and below normal precipitation in the southeast corner.
